HERRING SPAWN REPORT FROM A BOAT:

ALAMEDA ROCKWALL: Herring are everywhere staging inside the south bay near the Rockwall moving in and out along the stretch of the jetty on an incoming tide were key 1/17/26

On this trip we were out fishing for Herring and trying to capture footage for an upcoming documentary for this channel. We purposely visited all the potential spots regardless of the outcome to log our outing and to understand the timing of our attempts for future fishing opportunities. These Herring are almost anywhere there is eelgrass and kelp but depending on the time of the month they can be found in many of the places covered in the video. We may try one more time for Herring covering the same locations to see if a week or two can make the difference on the same locations to sample again the conditions, bottom readings, school sizes etc.
